The Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University is the National Data Center for the EMBARC study. The New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) will be enrolling participants in EMBARC in addition to serving as the Data Coordinating Center. As Columbia University's department of Psychiatry, NYSPI is a nationally pre-eminent center for research into the treatment of mood disorders, incorporating for this study the collective efforts of the Depression Evaluation Service, Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology, and the Division of Epidemiology. Principal investigators at NYSPI include Myrna Weissman PhD, Ramin V. Parsey MD PhD, and Patrick J. McGrath MD, scientists with a strong commitment to mood disorders research who have made a major commitment of effort to this pioneering project.
